Demain soir (jeudi 10.05) aura lieu la projection des résultats du Workshop mené par Johannes Gees la semaine passée à l'écal.

Ces projections laser commenceront à Bussigny (silo Landi) vers 20h30 et se déplaceront en ville vers 21h30-22h (bâtiment communal, façade coté Flon, au dessus de la caserne des pompiers).

Pour celles et ceux qui cherchent à occuper le weekend de l'Ascension, voici MIXED MEDIA, festival international autour de la culture électronique, des new media arts, de l'architecture et du son qui se tient à Milan du 25 au 28 mai 2006, au Hangar Bicocca (Torri di Kiefer).

Lia, une de nos intervenante est de la partie parmi tant d'autres.

Le festival IMAGINA 2006 (festival de la création de contenus numériques de Monte-Carlo) accueille cette année l'écal. L'unité de Media & Interaction design y présentera certaines de ces récentes réalisations, avec comme toile de fond cette illustration de Akinori Oishi.

L'unité Media & Interaction Design est invitée à se produire le jeudi 26.01.06 à l'usine.
3 sets seront présentés par les étudiants des trois années.

La Galerie Anatome accueille, du 11 mai au 23 juillet 2005, le collectif H5, qui, depuis dix ans, distille ses images dans l'univers musical (jaquettes et clips vidéos). Ludovic Houplain et Hervé de Crecy, deux membres du collectif, étaient venus à l'écal pour un workshop clip.

This year the Prix Ars Electronica 2005 in the category NetVision / Net Excellence goes to Benjamin Fry and Casey Reas (USA/Canada) with "Processing" (www.processing.org)

[As an innovative, easily understood programming language, "Processing" enables students, artists, designers and architects to design and produce virtual prototypes. The program can be utilized as both a sort of virtual sketchbook as well as a professional graphics program.

"Processing" is an open project that was initiated by Casey Reas and Benjamin Fry. The program was developed jointly by a large group of artists working together on a voluntary basis, and is still constantly being revised and updated. This open-source software opens up completely new possibilities of doing artistic work on the computer.

The Tensta Konsthall in Stockholm currently shows Rita and Hektor, two computer-controlled drawing devices by Juerg Lehni (ECAL former student).

Rita makes her first appearance using a set of whiteboard markers on a large glass panel. Constantly drawing, erasing and drawing again, she works like a display.

Hektor will gradually spray paint texts and images over the gallery walls, starting May 14 (12 noon - 5 pm) and finishing on the Grand Finale.
